The RoHS directive is legislation enacted by the European Union to reduce or eliminate the use of six hazardous substances (lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, PBB, and PDBE). The marketing and distribution-related provisions of the directive have been taken effect throughout the EU since July 1, 2006.
