Densei-Lambda will release on June 1 the MC12/MZ12 Series terminal-block type single-phase noise filters offering RoHS compliance and significantly improved characteristics and shape. The new noise filters are designed to help meet the EMC requirements for industrial equipment.

1.Market Background

A noise filter is an electrical component that plays an essential role in satisfying the EMC requirements for FA control equipment and other industrial devices. Drawing on a wealth of know-how accumulated as a manufacturer of power supplies, Densei-Lambda offers noise filters that deliver higher cost performance and greater ease of use, as exemplified by those that use terminal blocks.

As the market grows increasingly aware of the need to protect the global environment, compliance with the RoHS Directive—the Directive for Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances—has become an issue of top priority among manufacturers. Reflecting this trend, Densei-Lambda will introduce the MC12/MZ12 Series single-phase noise filters, which conform to the RoHS Directive and offer improved characteristics and shape.

 

2.Features of the New Product

The MC12/MZ12 Series single-phase noise filters comply with the RoHS Directive through the use of lead-free material and other environmentally responsible features. The unique shape, employing a new-concept terminal block, allows for easy wiring without removal of a screw or cover, thereby improving the efficiency of work (patent and design right pending). Integration of the terminal block with the filter affords a savings in space, while the molding-free structure helps reduce the size and weight.

Regarding the electrical characteristics, the MC12 Series offers excellent low-range damping and the MZ12 Series embodies superior pulse damping. The two families are sure to help engineers make the most of their abilities. So that the new noise filters can be used in various applications, we offer different variations including the conventional screw mounting type, easy DIN-rail mounting type, and low-leak-current type for medical applications.

3.Sales Plan

As our next-generation flagship noise filter series, we will expand the MC12/MZ12 Series. Both the MC12 and MZ12 Series products come in five types covering the rated current of 6, 10, 16, 20 and 30 A, and each type is available in the screw mounting, DIN-rail mounting and low-current-leak specifications. The 15 variations in each series--or a total of 30 variations--will certainly meet any conceivable application.

Sales will commence on June 1, 2004, and we plan to generate 300 million yen annually in three years by expanding the market for all types of industrial equipment.

New, Easy-to-Use Terminal Block
  The terminal block employs a "trap door" cover that allows the connection of round crimp terminals without removing the screws wiring process
  1. Open the cover.
  2. Lift up the screw and connect the terminal.
    (The screw need not be removed.)
