FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Densei-Lambda to Close Kanoya Factory
TOKYO, February 22, 2002 - Densei-Lambda K. K. (TSE: 6917), a leading manufacturer of power systems, announced following a board meeting today that it would close Densei-Lambda's factory in Kanoya City, Kagoshima.
1. Reasons for the closure
In response to a rapidly changing business environment, Densei-Lambda last year developed a strategy to increase competitiveness, improve organizational structure, and concentrate and increase the efficiency of its manufacturing and research facilities. The closure of the Kanoya factory is one part of this plan. Operations currently carried out at the Kanoya facility will be transferred to factories in Nagaoka City, Niigata and to a manufacturing subsidiary in Malaysia.
As a result of this closure, the rationalization of domestic production of switching power supply and uninterruptible power supply into Densei-Lambda's Nagaoka and Tsukuba factories respectively will be complete.
